New paper bringing some good old physical-organic chemistry into solid-state mechanochemistry

What if it wasn't necessary to have brand new mechanisms for mechanochemistry? A new collaboration with Francesco Delogu and by our PhD students, Leonarda Vugrin and Maria Carta.

We use two tools: Raman monitoring and mechanochemistry-specific kinetic analysis, to establish a correlation between the reaction probability and the Hammett constants in mechanochemical reactions. These results implicate that the body of knowledge accumulated in physical-organic chemistry could be used in mechanochemistry to predict and plan reactions.
